DW Used Collector’s Maple 18×22 Broken Glass Bass Drum

Katia de Peyer $ 98.37
Collector’s Maple 18×22 Broken Glass Bass Drum. SOLD Used. Shell is 18 in. deep x 22 in. diameter.  Standard Maple Shell with re-rings. NOTE: DW has had a few iterations of Broken Glass wrap over the years.  The hue on this 2008 drum is one of the lighter ones.  See the pic with a darker version tom from 2010 for comparison. This is sold as pictured and described.  If you want to see if the finish is an exact match for one of your drums you’ll need to bring one of your toms to the shop to compare. The drum is in very good condition overall.  Finish is tight.  Chrome is clean.  Some of the claw felts are missing or worn. There are stains and pedal rash on the natural portion of the batter hoop.  There is sticker residue inside the bottom of the shell along with the original velcro Pro-cushion tabs.  No pillow included.  Edges are good.  Heads are lightly used.  There is a line of discoloration in the wrap on the bottom of the drum at the seam which sometimes happens with some glass finishes over time.  See all pictures. About the Author

Katia de Peyer’s first book Dancing with MySelf, Sensuous Exercises for Body, Mind and Spirit (Nucleus Publications, 1991; La Source Press, 2026) introduced her method of inner-centering through movement, hailed by Diane von Furstenberg as a whole new attitude about exercising. Her second book Enjoy Your Healing Power (La Source Press, 2025) is an intuitive, helpful guide for developing our healing power.  A ballet dancer born in Paris who lived in Spain to further her studies in flamenco, Katia moved to New York in the late sixties to start a successful career as a personal trainer. There she met the virtuoso clarinettist Gervase de Peyer in 1976.  She and Gervase married in 1980 and lived for two decades in the US and then in the UK until Gervase’s death in 2017.  Katia continues her work as a writer and healer in London and New York.
