Ludwig Black Beauty B-Stock 6.5×14 in. Black Nickel over Brass Snare Drum LB417B

Katia de Peyer $ 93.21
Black Beauty Supra-Phonic Snare Drum. B-Stock LB417 One of the primary reasons Ludwig is The Most Famous Name In Drums is the legendary Black Beauty Snare Drum. The drum is constructed of a single sheet of brass that is machine drawn and spun into a seamless beaded shell, then nickel-plated with a beautifully exquisite finish. A true American original, the Black Beauty provides a warm, round metallic tone that is often imitated, but never duplicated. However, due to their truly unique and difficult manufacturing process, only a very limited number of Black Beauties is available each year. Their B-stock snares sound, play, and function exactly the same as their A-stock snares.  They function perfectly.  The shell’s finish just didn’t pass the 100% perfect test so there will be some minor imperfections in the finish.  All working parts have full warranty. Specs: Seamless Brass shell with black nickel finish and chrome plated hardware. Imperial lugs. Triple-flanged hoops. P-88 throw-off. P-35P die-cast butt. It’s a legendary snare drum! Snare ships new with warranty from Dale’s Drum Shop – an Authorized Dealer. Please contact us anytime with any questions you may have. A Drummer will respond to you promptly.

About the Author

Katia de Peyer’s first book Dancing with MySelf, Sensuous Exercises for Body, Mind and Spirit (Nucleus Publications, 1991; La Source Press, 2026) introduced her method of inner-centering through movement, hailed by Diane von Furstenberg as a whole new attitude about exercising. Her second book Enjoy Your Healing Power (La Source Press, 2025) is an intuitive, helpful guide for developing our healing power.  A ballet dancer born in Paris who lived in Spain to further her studies in flamenco, Katia moved to New York in the late sixties to start a successful career as a personal trainer. There she met the virtuoso clarinettist Gervase de Peyer in 1976.  She and Gervase married in 1980 and lived for two decades in the US and then in the UK until Gervase’s death in 2017.  Katia continues her work as a writer and healer in London and New York.
