Sonor Drums Gavin Harrison Protean Drum Tuning Key

Katia de Peyer $ 7.19
PTK Protean Drum Tuning Key Please note: This is designed for standard (square head) drum key bolts and not Sonor’s slotted drum key bolts.   This is for one tuning key.  But you can buy two and tune like Gavin!  We’ll combine shipping for you. As a touring Pro, Gavin has to tune and exchange heads on a regular basis. Over the years he developed his own technique, which led to the development of a set of two special designed tuning keys. The Protean keys make the exchange of heads and tuning, easier, faster and more convenient. The orange silicon top is easy on the fingers and helps you grip it when spinning a lug bolt on or off.  It also makes it easier to find the key when you drop it on a dark stage. The T handle is comfortable in the hand and has all rounded and smooth edges. The key is 2 and 1/2 inches tall and 1 and 3/4 inches wide.  Chrome finish with orange silicone top.   Dale’s Drum Shop is an authorized dealer. Contact us anytime with your questions about the gear we offer.  A Drummer will respond to you promptly.

About the Author

Katia de Peyer’s first book Dancing with MySelf, Sensuous Exercises for Body, Mind and Spirit (Nucleus Publications, 1991; La Source Press, 2026) introduced her method of inner-centering through movement, hailed by Diane von Furstenberg as a whole new attitude about exercising. Her second book Enjoy Your Healing Power (La Source Press, 2025) is an intuitive, helpful guide for developing our healing power.  A ballet dancer born in Paris who lived in Spain to further her studies in flamenco, Katia moved to New York in the late sixties to start a successful career as a personal trainer. There she met the virtuoso clarinettist Gervase de Peyer in 1976.  She and Gervase married in 1980 and lived for two decades in the US and then in the UK until Gervase’s death in 2017.  Katia continues her work as a writer and healer in London and New York.
