They are also a sentimental gift also used by thousands of nervous grooms (and brides) waiting at the altar to steady the wedding day nerves. The coins mounted on the hip flasks often signify an important year for the couple, maybe when they met. 1955 71st Birthday Gifts These 1955 birth year hip flasks make the best 71st birthday gifts, for a couple of reasons: For birthdays, the coins used are exactly as old as the recipient who was born in 1955, therefore are a meaningful and thoughtful present. In addition, older coins often bring back memories of the ‘good old days’ and lots of conversations about happy childhoods are evoked by seeing the ‘old money’ once again. 1955 71st Anniversary Gifts Are you or your partner, friend or relative celebrating 67 years of marriage? Show them how much you love them with these personalised hip flasks, which make a wonderful Wedding Anniversary gift. Memorial Jewellery- Personalised Hip Flasks Like the increasingly popular ‘Ashes Jewellery’, our flasks can also poignantly signify the birth year of a loved one that has now passed away. Keep them close by subtly having their birth year on your hip flask. Maybe they always enjoyed a tot of whisky or gin. A touching way to have them ‘with you’ on your special wedding day and raise a glass to absent friends. Cheers, Santé, Salud, Prost!

About the Author

Katia de Peyer’s first book Dancing with MySelf, Sensuous Exercises for Body, Mind and Spirit (Nucleus Publications, 1991; La Source Press, 2026) introduced her method of inner-centering through movement, hailed by Diane von Furstenberg as a whole new attitude about exercising. Her second book Enjoy Your Healing Power (La Source Press, 2025) is an intuitive, helpful guide for developing our healing power.  A ballet dancer born in Paris who lived in Spain to further her studies in flamenco, Katia moved to New York in the late sixties to start a successful career as a personal trainer. There she met the virtuoso clarinettist Gervase de Peyer in 1976.  She and Gervase married in 1980 and lived for two decades in the US and then in the UK until Gervase’s death in 2017.  Katia continues her work as a writer and healer in London and New York.
